Do You Need a Life Coach Certification in Georgia?

No. Georgia doesn't license or certify life coaches, so certification is voluntary. Your coaching must stay out of licensed counseling and therapy; the life coaching vs. therapy guide explains where that line sits.

Most Georgia coaches earn a credential from the International Coaching Federation. The Associate Certified Coach (ACC) requires 60 hours of coach training, 100 hours of coaching experience (75 paid), 10 hours of mentor coaching, a performance evaluation and the ICF ACC Exam. Graduates of ICF Level 1 and Level 2 programs apply for $175 as ICF members or $325 as non-members.

UGA designed its organization coaching certificate to align with the ICF, but its page doesn't state ICF accreditation, so pair it with an accredited program if the ACC is your goal. Compare credentials in the certification guide.
